There's a high index of importation of product (goods) in Sao Tome and Principe, especially food, construction materials, (vehicle spare parts), etc. The sea is the main channel of transportation of heavy cargo to Sao Tome. And due to the lack of a deep water port, the shipment is slow, especially in case of huge quantity of heavy cargo. The country still needs to develop some important sectors which are also needing investment, such as infrastructure, health, agriculture (and livestock), fishing, tourism, energy, industry, oil and gas, etc.
