People of Sao Tome and Príncipe

Since all the people of the island-nation of Sao Tome and Príncipe have been imported from abroad, the race of people living in the country are also relatively a mix of the original people who arrived at the Sao Tome and Príncipe. The existing ethnics are the Mestiço (mixed European and native African), Angolares (descendants of Angolan slaves), Forros (descendants of freed slaves), Serviçais (contract laborers from Angola, Mozambique, and Cape Verde), Tongas (children of servicais born on the islands), European (primarily Portuguese), etc.

For many historical reazon, this creole nation is culturally very peacefull and day-by-day life is quite quiet.

Culturally the people of Sao Tome and Principe are peaceful and have no sign of preconceits like racism or skin color. And the lack of tribal, ethnic or religious conflicts, in addition to historically small subsistence economy built a traditional and relaxed common life atmosphere - léve-léve ("easy-easy" or "slow-slow", no rush) originally intended to mean "prudence".
